This will make me sound extremely shallow (but hey, all I talk about in here is shopping, so whatever) but I could look at photos of makeup all day. I'm kind of addicted to Specktra.net and Makeupbag.net. Summer makeup collections are generally so boring to me, because they either consist of bronze/gold shades & things to highlight your tan, or extremely bright, crazy colours. Also this year I saw lots of UGLY blues. None of those work for me in any way, shape or form... needless to say, I'm used to pretty much ignoring makeup collections until late summer when the incredible fall colours come out. This year there are several upcoming releases I'm excited about.
I'm normally not a huge fan of Prescriptives (except their incredible custom glosses), but the upcoming The Seducers collection has this customizable compact that comes with the black & white shades. The lipstick looks amazing! I'm definitely going to check it out.
Bobbie Brown is a makeup brand I've always admired kind of from afar--I own one lip palette that I've yet to use because it's just too pretty, and an eyeshadow duo that I got as a present. Lately I've seen several things coming out from BB that look amazing, so I might have to give in and start buying some.
The Stonewashed Nudes palette is out this month and it's all kinds of pretty:
Later this fall (September, I believe) will be The Metallics:
WOW. I'm all over that Forest Metallics set, but the whole set is pretty stunning.
Also, I found this pair of shoes for $5 last night at Target. For some reason they were the only pair marked down that much, and they were in my size only! Normally I hate gold but I really like these. Go me!
Despite the fact that lately it feels like I've been buying everything I see, there are still things I am lusting after but haven't bought yet.
Ecopit Kewpies, from Valley of the Dolls. Really overpriced, but very cute.
Very limited $100 8" Dunny from Kid Robot. It comes out next Thursday, and I'm sure it'll sell out immediately. $40-ish is the most I'll allow myself to spend on urban vinyl toys so too bad for me. :( It's soo beyond awesome... I have such a thing for geishas.
Sophie has a new cd and the single is fantastic! I need to get off my lazy rear and order it at cd-wow.net.
Lately I'm having the urge to throw everything away and start from scratch. Of course, I never actually do that, but it's nice to be in the mindset of "out with the old" since I tend to be a packrat. At the same time, since I'm getting rid of old things, I think I get fooled into thinking I have room for new things.
Recently, I've bought these shirts from Threadless:
A ton of stuff from MAC (mostly skincare and brushes, including these):
I also pre-ordered my first Momoko doll, which is due to be released this month:
So, a few steps forward and many steps back when it comes to living the Zen life of non-attachment (ha ha)!
